The film (2015)

The Dressmaker is also a 2015 Australian film directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, starring Kate Winslet as Myrtle “Tilly” Dunnage, a couture-trained dressmaker who returns to her tiny 1950s hometown to care for her mother — and to find out why she was sent away as a child. Liam Hemsworth, Judy Davis and Hugo Weaving co-star. It's a revenge drama with sharp tailoring and darker comedy underneath.

The novel (2000)
